General Rules 2013/2014

1.

The League is to be known as the CLACTON LADIES DART LEAGUE.

2.

Entrance fee for each team is to be £20.00 for each season. Plus £2.50 for each registered player

3.

All teams to pay the registration fee 14 days before the A.G.M.

4.

League to consist of a maximum of 30 teams (10 teams in each division)

5.

A minimum of eight players are to be signed on by the A.G.M.

6.

The A.G.M. will be held July/August. Proposals for the agenda and nominations for the Committee are to be received by the Hon. League Secretary in writing before the 1st June  (none will be considered after that date). In all matters affecting the League only one (1) vote per team will be allowed. A vote on any proposal for a change of format of play must be carried by a majority of the  teams entitled to vote for that change to succeed.  When a vote has been carried the proposal becomes effective immediately.

7.

In the event of a team as a whole walking out of a venue, the team and the landlord would have to appear before the Committee before continuing the fixtures. The Committee will make a decision as to whether the team can continue the current season at the same or alternative venue.

8.

Any team wishing to change their name or venue at the end of a season may do so by applying to the Committee in writing. They may stay in their respective divisions providing the landlord does not wish to re-enter a team.

9.

All League matches are to be played on a Tuesday night, with the exception of any rearranged games or unless otherwise stated.

10.

Any person involved in any behaviour likely to bring the Clacton Ladies Dart League into disrepute may be banned from the League. This will be according to the Committee’s interpretation of each  incident.

11.

The minimum age for entry in to the League is 14 at the commencement of the season

12.

All teams MUST be represented at the A.G.M. with a minimum of two registered players in attendance. Committee members may represent their team.

13.

Acceptance of player’s registrations is at the discretion of the Committee. All applications by teams will be subject to approval by the Committee before being offered for election at the A.G.M.  No reason shall be given for any rejection.

14.

Promotion and relegation shall be at the Committees discretion (two teams up and two teams down where possible)

15.

The amount of individual trophies supplied by the League will be determined by the registration forms the maximum being 16.

16.

The Committee reserve the right to add, change and amend any rules deemed necessary. In all matters of dispute the Committee decision is final.

 

 

League Match Rules

1.

All venues to have a fixed raised oche with the board measurements being: bulls eye to the floor 5ft 8in; face of dartboard to back of oche 7ft 9¼ in; bulls eye diagonal to back of oche 9ft 7½in Throw of 7ft 9¼in to be adhered to.

2.

All names to be drawn by opposing Captain on the night of the match

3.

Draw to be completed so that play can commence at 8.30 sharp. No player to be substituted once the draw has been made. If team is not present by 8.45 the opposing team can claim the game. Draw & game may start earlier by mutual agreement.

4.

No draw to be held up waiting for late arrivals, no game to wait, any player not present when their game is called forfeits the game.

5.

If a team is players short then the team can play one double with one player, thus forfeiting the throw of the absent partner.

6.

Bust rule to count in all competitions, except when a player scores the required “double” to complete the respective leg, game or match. Any darts mistakenly thrown after this will not count.

7.

Home team to start match, then alternate games.

8.

All players must sign the result card for every game they have played before leaving the venue. If a player leaves a venue before signing the card then they will forfeit that game

9.

All captains must make sure that the winning games have been circled, to confirm the result and to establish the player or players with the most wins in each division

10.

Any scores of 100 or over and the highest shot out must be recorded on the result cards. Team name and player’s full name to be recorded

11.

Any team unable to fulfil a League game to give the opponents 3 clear days notice (subject to bad weather or bereavement) if less than 24 hours notice the landlord must be reimbursed £10.00 for the food. This should be in the hands of the Hon League Secretary within 5 days. The defaulting team must appear before the Committee.

12.

All postponed matches to be rearranged by the teams concerned within 4 weeks of cancellation. Home team to give 3 dates, not all the same day or in the same week. The Hon League Secretary must be informed of arranged date. If unable to do so the Committee will fix a date.

13.

Players to be registered before the first match. Thereafter 7 clear days before playing. (A player is only registered when the forms are in the hands of the Hon League Secretary).

14.

Registration after December 31st will be subject to Committee approval

15.

No player may register for more than 1 team in this League season. Transfers from one team to another, if applied for will be allowed up to the 31st December. Transfer forms are available from the Hon League Secretary.

16.

All Fixtures to be fulfilled i.e.  all League Matches and all Cup matches. Any team failing to honour all fixtures will be brought before the Committee and will be liable to a fine of £20.

17.

The Captain of the home team is responsible for the result card reaching the Results Secretary within 72 hours of the match. Failure to do so will result in a fine of £5.00

18.

All players to sit behind the oche and not in front of, or in line with, the participating players.

19.

If any Captain finds that a game is taking a lot longer than usual a second board may be used. (Only after 10pm)

Cup Match Rules

1.  Only registered players may play in Cup games.

2.  Your team will incur a fine of £20 if not represented and may be penalised from entering next year.

3.  All teams must compete in Cup Matches as these are fixtures - with the exception of the Jan Eaves Cup,

     Open Singles, Annie Phillips and Charity Shield, which are optional.

Please note when playing these matches in the final stages at the Comrades, the start time is 7.45

If your team is short of players (Jenner & Amos Cups):
7 Players – 3 Doubles & 1 play on their own, Singles 1 Bye, Team game miss a throw
6 Players – 3 Doubles & 1 Bye, Singles 2 Byes, Team game miss 2 throws
5 Players – 2 Doubles, 1 play on their own & 1 Bye, Singles 3 Byes, Team game miss 3 throws.

If both teams are short you cannot draw a Bye against a Bye and in the Doubles you CANNOT have one person playing one person.  If this happens re-draw.

 

ETIQUETTE

 

 players are expected to give respect both to their opponenets and to the games in progress.

 

Mobiles should be switched off or silent during a match and should NEVER be answered by anyone playing or chalking.

 

All players should be BEHIND the player who is throwing.

 

The chalker is the referee and should not prompt players on their game except to advise on what has been scored or what remains to finish the game (and only when asked).

 

all spectators, where-ever possible, should sit BEHIND the oche.

 

It is recongnised that raffles or bus-stops are a contribution towards food costs and therefore should not be held unless refreshments are provided.

 

 

COMMITTEE CONSTITUTION

The object of the Committee is to promote good sportsmanship and the playing of darts in a friendly and sociable atmosphere.

1.

The League shall be governed and maintained by the EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE comprising  five members - League Secretary; Chair; Vice Chair; Treasurer; and Minutes Secretary.

2.

The League shall have a bank account with two signatories as authorised by the Committee. The League accounts will be independently audited annually.

3.

All Officers, President, League Secretary and Treasurer are to be elected annually at the A.G.M., which will be held in of July/ August.

4.

In the event of resignations, the Committee shall have the power to co-opt to maintain efficiency. All co-opted members are entitled to play in the Committee Cup.

5.

QUORUM- The minimum number of Committee members in attendance at any meeting should a vote be required shall be 60% of the overall Committee membership plus Chair.

6.

Monthly Committee meetings shall be held on a Wednesday as listed in the handbook.

7.

Any Officer or Committee member missing 3 consecutive meetings or cup matches will be deemed to have resigned.

8.

Every Committee member including the President, Vice President and Executive Committee are answerable to the main Committee body as a whole.

9.

Any Committee member neglecting her duties or behaving in a manner likely to bring the League into disrepute may be asked to resign or dismissed.

10.

The Committee shall ensure all League matches and Cup games are held at suitable venues including, oche measurements, lighting, condition of matchboards and playing area.

11.

The committee will chalk the  semi finals and finals round of  Cups matches.

12.

The Committee chalker will report back to the match director with the result of the game, including any high shots and tons.

13.

All Committee members are adjudicators during League and Cup matches.  They will be expected to know and uphold the Clacton Ladies Dart League rules. 

14.

The Committee can opt to have a Sub-Committee to organise promotional and fund raising events and report to the main Committee.

15.

The Committee shall run and organise the raffles on behalf of the League.

16.

The Committee will ensure that all paperwork including registration forms for landlords, teams and Committee vacancies will be dispatched six weeks before the A.G.M.

17.

The Committee will sit 28 days before the A.G.M. to discuss and finalise the agenda that will include all proposals and any nominations from teams for the Committee.

18.

The League Treasurer & League Secretary will ensure that all registration forms and fees are received by the 30th June.

19.

The Committee will ensure that the finalised agenda is sent out to all teams no later than 14 days before the A.G.M. to allow all teams a chance to discuss the agenda.

20.

The Committee at any general meeting may make alterations or additions to the above. 

21.

All Committee Meetings and all discussions held therein will remain CONFIDENTIAL.

CHARITY SHIELD RULES

The object of the competition shall be to raise funds for the nominated charity and provide fixtures to enable players to play darts throughout the year.

The Charity Shield runs concurrently with the Winter League but all fixtures must be fulfilled  with CLDL  i.e. all rounds of Railway 4's, Jenner and Amos Cups until knocked out, plus Finals Night and the AGM etc.  Clacton Ladies Darts League Match Rules to apply.

All monies collected shall go to the nominated charity.

Each team to consist of a minimum of 4 players. Each player to pay £1.00 per head with their registration form. The Shield season runs from the second week of the Jenner Cup until the end of August so teams may join at any time from 1 st April to 30 th June.

               4 x Singles, 301 Best of Three

               1 x Four 801 Single Leg (need only be played as a decider).

Opposing Captain draws names in order ABC etc.

The Losers of each singles and doubles game to pay 50p into the Charity Fund i.e. £5.00 total for the match. The winning team will have the £5.00 credit to their credit in the Charity Fund.

The Captain of the home team is responsible for the result card & charity money reaching the League Secretary within 72 hours.

Two points will be awarded for each win. The Charity Cup will be awarded to the team with the most points, irrespective of how many games each team has played.

All registered teams must fulfil fixtures in the weeks that they are not competing in the Jenner, Fours, & Amos Cups or forfeit the fixture and pay the full £5 penalty.

Each team is encouraged to fund-raise by any legal manner. These extra monies may be paid to the League Secretary at any time but to receive credit towards the Charity Shield must be paid in before 31st August. The Charity Shield will be awarded to the team that has the highest credit in the Charity Fund at 31st August.

Phone the Dartline on Friday of each week for the fixture for the following week.

Trophies will be presented on the evening of the Captain’s Cup in September.
